After 11 years of using Mac OS, I decided to return to PC. I must admit that the process requires an adaptation period, in which we must relearn some simple things, but it wasn’t as frustrating as I thought it could be. It’s like switching from iOS to Android. I think, as with everything, the key lies in the mindset or beliefs you have about it. However, I recommend considering some of the following points during the adoption process: <\/span><\/p>\n

Do you remember which system you learned first?<\/strong> If you used Windows for years, you should know that the changes are mostly aesthetic. Many paths, menus, and options resemble the first versions you worked with. If you’re the type of person who puts everything on the desktop, including programs, you’ll be safe. If you never used Windows, you possibly have an evolved mind from being from another planet, and you’ll undoubtedly succeed. <\/span><\/p>\n

Which programs do you use most on your Mac?<\/strong> Honestly, if you open your Internet browser on Mac or PC to access your bank’s website, you’ll follow the same procedure. Spotify still works the same, WhatsApp Web too, and Office packages as well. Even what you use for leisure will remain the same. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you don’t know how to use Word on PC, you don’t know how to use it on Mac either.<\/strong> It’s that simple\u2014the Insert options didn’t move to the Format area just because you changed to PC.<\/strong> Generally, the office products we use are Microsoft, and they maintain a very similar structure, unless you’re a rebellious hippie<\/em> and use OpenOffice<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Copy and paste will never be the same.<\/strong> Try to accept it quickly, given that CMD + C<\/strong> is not in the same position as Ctrl + C<\/strong> (This applies to all functions where you use Ctrl).<\/span><\/p>\n

Read the menus and alerts.<\/strong> I’ve always believed that those of us who work in support at the Helpdesk<\/em> level are avid readers of error messages. Generally, if you read what the system says, you don’t need support. <\/span><\/p>\n

In my opinion, the learning and adoption period is very quick. I dare to say that in a period of no more than three weeks, a user resistant to change will be working easily on a PC. <\/span><\/p>\n
