How Do We Reduce Costs when Migrating from Gmail to Microsoft 365?

This post is also available in: Español (Spanish)

Our clients manage to save a minimum of 12% when migrating their services to Microsoft 365, and up to 65% when using the online platform.

I would like to clarify initially that this is not a matter of preferences in terms of “look and feel” or any other subjective connotation. I am only sharing my personal experience related to cost reduction, which is a topic we proactively seek for our clients.

Let’s get straight to the point:

The current most economical price for Google Workspace is $6 USD per month, with a storage capacity of 30 GB per user, and if I’m not mistaken, this storage is shared with Drive.

Microsoft offers MS 365 Business Basic for $5 USD per month with an annual subscription, its storage per mailbox is 50 GB per user and 1 TB OneDrive

(Apologies, I’m not very familiar with APA standards)

Most organizations use Microsoft Office in one way or another. In many cases, when they acquire it legally, they use a plan that represents an investment of $8.25 USD (Microsoft 365 Applications Package) per month with an annual subscription. They have this Office plan and additionally maintain their GMAIL “Business Starter” email for $6.00 per month. Therefore, adding both, they pay $14.25 USD monthly.

If you purchase a Microsoft 365 Business Standard plan in which you invest $12.50 USD per month, you get email with 50 GB, 1 TB of OneDrive storage, and the option to legally install all your office applications on up to 5 devices. You can also combine plans, configuring some users with Microsoft Office Basic in which you invest $5 USD per month and use your office 100% online. I recommend this for users who require basic Office functions, who generally have a stable Internet connection and don’t need to keep the full applications installed on their computer.

In this way, if we use Microsoft 365 Business Standard, we save $1.75 USD per month per office suite and email package, or $8.25 per month when using Microsoft 365 Business Basic with online applications.

This is just one of the benefits you get by unifying these services. If you want to know a little more about it, we can advise you without commitment on the following WhatsApp
